Lenoir-Rhyne’s Catherine Hauck Named To Daktronics All-America Women’s Soccer Team
HIGHLAND HEIGHTS, Ky. -- Lenoir-Rhyne University's Catherine Hauck has been named a 2010 Daktronics NCAA Division II Women's Soccer Third-Team All-American. Hauck is the second L-R player to earn All-America honors in as many seasons (Elizabeth Hawes in 2009).
Hauck, a junior midfielder from Lake Mary, Fla., was a first-team all-region honoree and was named the 2010 South Atlantic Conference Women's Soccer Player Of The Year.
Hauck tied for first on the team this year in goals with nine to go along with three assists and 21 points and led L-R to the NCAA Division II Elite Eight and its first-ever playoff berth .
Lenoir-Rhyne also finished with a school-record 19-2-2 mark and won both the SAC Regular Season and Tournament Championships, also firsts in program history.
Hauck has been named to the All-South Atlantic Conference First
Team the past two years (2009 and 2010) and was selected as the
Most Valuable Player of this year's Food Lion SAC Women's Soccer
Tournament.
L-R now has three players who've garnered All-America accolades: Hauck, Hawes and Natalie Daniel (1995).
Sports information directors from NCAA Division II schools and conferences selected the three Daktronics All-America teams. The process begins at the regional level with all first-team all-region picks advancing to the national ballot. This is the fifth year Daktronics has sponsored the NCAA Division II Women's Soccer All-America and all-region teams. The team is sponsored by Daktronics, Inc., an acknowledged world leader in scoring, timing and programmable display systems for virtually every sport at every level of competition.
