ROCK HILL, S.C. (TheSAC.com) – Catawba goalkeeper Bethany Davis has been named the AstroTurf South Atlantic Conference Women's Soccer Player of the Week for games played Oct. 13-19, the League announced today.
Davis, a junior from Salisbury, Md., recorded 12 saves and two shutouts to help her team to a 3-0 record last week, including a pair of South Atlantic Conference wins. Against Tusculum on Oct. 13, Davis turned away a penalty kick with just 17 seconds left in the contest to preserve a 1-0 win. She finished the contest with six saves against the Pioneers. Two days later against Lees-McRae, she posted five saves in a 1-0 win. Davis finished the week with one save as Catawba downed Brevard 3-2 in double-overtime. The honor marks her first Player of the Week selection this season.
Also nominated for Women's Soccer Player of the Week: Jenna Pacyna (Coker), Alayna Morris (Lenoir-Rhyne) and Ashley Osiecki (Queens).
