The South Atlantic Conference Announces Seeds for the 2014 SAC Women's Soccer Championship
Lenoir-Rhyne won its fifth-straight South Atlantic Conference Regular-Season Championship as it captured the 2014 Title. With the crown, the Bears have earned the No. 1 seed in next week’s South Atlantic Conference Women’s Soccer Championship
ROCK HILL, S.C. (TheSAC.com) – Lenoir-Rhyne won its fifth-straight South Atlantic Conference Regular-Season Championship as it captured the 2014 Title. With the crown, the Bears have earned the No. 1 seed in next week's South Atlantic Conference Women's Soccer Championship, it was determined today as the Conference season concluded this afternoon. Lenoir-Rhyne finished the season with a 10-1-0 League mark for 30 points.
Wingate claimed the No. 2 seed in the tournament as it finished the Conference season at 9-1-1 for 28 points, ahead of Newberry, who posted an 8-2-1 League mark and 25 points. Lincoln Memorial rounds out the list of institutions who will host quarterfinal games as it garnered the No. 4 seed with its 7-2-2 record and 23 points. At No. 5 was Catawba who turned in a League record of 6-4-1 and 19 points, followed by Tusculum, who notched a 6-5-0 League record and 18 points. Queens' 5-4-2 Conference record and 17 points was good for the No. 7 seed, while Anderson rounded out the top-eight with a 4-6-1 SAC record and 13 points.
The 2014 South Atlantic Conference Women's Soccer Championship quarterfinals will be played at campus sites on Tuesday, Nov. 4 before moving to Manchester Meadows in Rock Hill, S.C. for the semifinals and finals on Nov. 7 and 9. The South Atlantic Conference's Tournament champion receives an automatic bid to the NCAA women's Soccer Tournament. The Conference Championship schedule is as follows:
