The South Atlantic Conference Announces AstroTurf SAC Women’s Soccer Player of the Week, Sept. 8

ROCK HILL, S.C. (TheSAC.com) – Anderson forward Idoia Agirre has been named the AstroTurf South Atlantic Conference Women's Soccer Player of the Week for games played Sept. 1 - Sept. 7, the League announced today.

Agirre, a junior from Legazpi, Spain, made her impressive Anderson University debut by scoring a pair of goals on a team-high 11 shots to lift Anderson to a 4-0 shutout victory over Shorter on their home opener on Sept. 3.  She continued her tremendous week by pushing the Trojans to a 7-1 win over Southern Wesleyan on Sept. 5, scoring four goals and an assist, accumulating nine points for the game. Of the team's 11 goals scored this season, Agirre has contributed six and closed the week with a .889 shot percentage. The award is her first Player of the Week plaudit this season.
