The South Atlantic Conference Announces AstroTurf Women's Soccer Players of the Week

ROCK HILL, S.C. (TheSAC.com) – The South Atlantic Conference announced its AstroTurf Women's Soccer Players of the Week for matches played during Oct. 16 through Oct. 21. Lenoir-Rhyne's Abbie Brown garnered the Offensive Player of the Week award, while Tusculum's Bailey Bosler was named Defensive Player of the Week.

A senior forward, Brown led the Bears to a pair of victories, including a 4-1 win over regionally-ranked Catawba. The Leeds, England native netted a goal and an assist against the Catawba Indians. In the 8-0 over Shaw, Brown completed a hat trick in just 40 minutes. Her four goals on the week came on just seven shots on goal. The goals drew Brown to a tie for the SAC lead in the category. This is Brown's first Offensive Player of the Week honor in 2018.

Bosler, a native of Waterloo, Ill., had four saves in her only action of the week, as the Pioneers shutout Lincoln Memorial 1-0 in a match that went to overtime. Tusculum was outshot by the Railsplitters 19-8, but the freshman goalkeeper delivered her second shutout in six starts this season. This is Bosler's second Defensive Player of the Week award this season.
