Coker's Clark and LMU's Latenstein Named SAC WePlayed Sports Women's Soccer Players of the Week
ROCK HILL, S.C. (TheSAC.com) – The South Atlantic Conference announced its WePlayed Sports Women's Soccer Players of the Week for matches played during week eight of the 2024 season. Coker's Maia Clark was named the Offensive Player of the Week while Lincoln Memorial's Bente Latenstein brought home Defensive Player of the Week honors.
Clark, a freshman from Gloucestershire, England, netted a hat trick in Coker's 4-2 win over Tusculum on Oct. 26. Clark needed just three shots to score her three goals and was credited with the game winner. For the year, Clark leads the conference with 12 goals and 26 points.
Latenstein, a senior from Amsterdam, Netherlands, posted a clean sheet as Lincoln Memorial tied Anderson on Saturday. Latenstein posted a pair of saves in the tie, each in the final 10 minutes. Her 51 saves on the year rank fourth in the league and the result helped LMU move into a fourth-place tie in the conference standings.
