Emory & Henry's Barnett Named South Atlantic Conference Varsity Gems Women's Swimmer of the Week
ROCK HILL, S.C. (TheSAC.com) – Emory & Henry's Mackenzie Barnett was named the South Atlantic Conference Varsity Gems Women's Swimmer of the Week for meets competed in during the twelfth week of the 2022-23 season, the Conference office announced today.
Barnett, a freshman from Monroe Township, N.J., led Emory & Henry to a 110-90 win over King (Tenn.) University on Friday, winning the 1000-yard freestyle (10:57.29), the 500-yard freestyle (5:32.96), and the 100-yard freestyle (55.84). Barnett also competed in Saturday's meet against University of North Carolina Asheville and Virginia Military Institute, placing second in the 200-yard freestyle with a time of 2:00.47 and finishing 5th in both the 50-yard freestyle (26.03) and the 100-yard freestyle (57.12).
