Wingate's Newman Named South Atlantic Conference Varsity Gems Women's Swimmer of the Week

ROCK HILL, S.C. (TheSAC.com) – Wingate's Lindsee Newman was named the South Atlantic Conference Varsity Gems Women's Swimmer of the Week for meets competed in during the thirteenth week of the 2022-23 season, the Conference office announced today. 

Newman, a sophomore from Colorado Springs, Colo., won three individual events, boosting the No. 8 Bulldogs to a 162-89 triumph over Barton College inside the Harrison Family YMCA on Saturday. She took first in the 1000-yard freestyle (10:35.56), the 200-yard butterfly (2:12.96) and the 500-yard freestyle (5:08.07).
