LMU’s Leah Donoff Named Women’s Tennis Player Of The Week
ROCK HILL, SC -- Lincoln Memorial University's Leah Donoff has been named the South Atlantic Conference Women's Tennis Player of the Week for the week ending March 2, 2010.
Donoff, a freshman from Tipp City, Ohio, went 6-0 last week in singles and double play to help the LMU women improve to 4-1 on the season.
She defeated Wingate's Kara Staskelis, 6-0, 6-3, at No. 1 singles, and then teamed with Melanie Smith to defeated Wingate's No. 3 doubles team of Ewa Opala and Pierce Dillard, 8-2.
Donoff defeated Catawba's Kasia Zielinski, 6-2, 6-0, at No. 1 singles, and then she and Smith beat the Catawba team of Kim Renspie and Maggie McKee at No. 3 doubles.
Against the University of the Cumberlands, Donoff defeated Donna Strong, 6-1, 6-1, at No. 1 singles and beat the team of Kaitlin Smith and Kristen Trees, 8-0, with parter Smith at No. 3 doubles.
Donoff is 5-0 in both singles and doubles competition this
season.
