Anderson’s Lauren Trumbull Named Women’s Tennis Player Of The Week

ROCK HILL, SC -- Anderson University's Lauren Trumbull has been named the South Atlantic Conference Women's Tennis Player of the Week for the week ending March 1, announced conference officials Wednesday.

Trumbull, a freshman from Anderson, S.C. (Belton-Honea Path HS), helped lead Anderson to an 8-1 road victory over Mars Hill on the week, while earning two wins on the afternoon. The newcomer defeated Mars Hill's Mary Nelson, 6-0, 6-1 at No. 4 singles to win her third straight match and run her overall singles record to 4-1 on the season. At No. 2 doubles, she partnered with Avery Owens to defeat the Mars Hill team of Nelson and Anna Rickenbaker, 8-5.

Trumbull is undefeated in conference action on both the singles and doubles side this season.
