The South Atlantic Conference Announces AstroTurf SAC Women's Tennis Player of the Week, Feb. 16

ROCK HILL, S.C. (TheSAC.com) – Lincoln Memorial's Elena Vasilyeva has been named the AstroTurf South Atlantic Conference Women's Tennis Player of the Week for matches played Feb. 9-15, the League announced today.

Vasilyeva, a junior from Yaroslavl, Russia, won her doubles and singles matches to lead the Railsplitters to a 5-4 win over Young Harris.  At the No. 1 doubles flight, she teamed with Gemma Goodland to pick up an 8-2 win.  She followed that effort with a 6-4, 6-1 win over Eva Castiglioni at the No. 1 flight.  The award is her first Player of the Week honor this season.

Also nominated for Women's Tennis Player of the Week: Mairead Cleary (Anderson), Melissa Laing (Queens) and Maria Garcia (Wingate).
