The South Atlantic Conference Announces AstroTurf SAC Women's Tennis Player of the Week, Mar. 9

ROCK HILL, S.C. (TheSAC.com) – Anderson's Rebecca Bruning has been named the AstroTurf South Atlantic Conference Women's Tennis Player of the Week for matches played March 2-8, the League announced today.

Bruning, a sophomore from Athens, Ga., posted a pair of singles wins and a doubles win for Anderson last week.  In singles, Bruning defeated Queens Melissa Laing, 7-5, 7-6 at the No. 1 flight and posted a 6-3, 5-7, 10-5 win against Erin Mills of Tusculum at the top flight.  Her doubles win came with teammate Ivey Welborn as the duo downed Tusuculum's Kate Hutchinson and Kaelee Heffner, 8-3.  The award is her second Player of the Week nod this season.

Also nominated for Women's Tennis Player of the Week: Carlotta Nassi (Queens), Franziska Funke (Tusculum) and Oroma Womeodu (Wingate).
