The South Atlantic Conference Announces AstroTurf SAC Women's Tennis Player of the Week, April 13
ROCK HILL, S.C. (TheSAC.com) – Queens' Carlotta Nassi has been named the AstroTurf South Atlantic Conference Women's Tennis Player of the Week for matches played April 6-12, the League announced today.
Nassi, a freshman from Livorno, Italy, went undefeated in three matches playing the No. 1 Singles spot for the Royals. She started the week with a win against Catawba's Liz Renteria going 6-2, 6-4. Nassi's second win of the week came against Elena Vasilyeva of Lincoln Memorial going 6-3, 6-2 to claim the match. She finished the regular season strong with a victory over Zorica Djuric of Lenoir-Rhyne going 6-4, 7-6 (9-7). Nassi remained undefeated throughout her doubles competition playing top in all three matches as her and partner Melissa Laing took a 8-4 win against Catawba's Liz Renteria and Kristen Rocko. The two put together an 8-5 win over Lincoln Memorial's No.1 Doubles Elena Vasilyeva and Gemma Goodland. Their last doubles win was against Zorica Djuric and Dominque Bruce from Lenoir Rhyne. The two went 8-3 in the match to make them undefeated for the week. The honor is her first Player of the Week selection this season.
