The South Atlantic Conference Announces AstroTurf SAC Women's Tennis Player of the Week, Feb. 1

ROCK HILL, S.C. (TheSAC.com) – Queens' Melissa Laing has been named the AstroTurf South Atlantic Conference Women's Tennis Player of the Week for matches played the opening week of the season, the League announced today.

Laing, a junior from Johannesburg, South Africa, kicked her weekend off with a win in doubles and a win at No. 2 singles to open her season as Queens picked up a win over Johnson C. Smith.  In her doubles match, Laing teamed with Ana Bolson to grab an 8-2 win at the No. 2 flight.  She followed with a straight-set 6-0, 6-0 win in singles action.  The award is her first Player of the Week nod this season.
