The South Atlantic Conference Announces AstroTurf SAC Women's Tennis Player of the Week, April 11
ROCK HILL, S.C. (TheSAC.com) – Queens' Carlotta Nassi has been named the AstroTurf South Atlantic Conference Women's Tennis Player of the Week for matches played April 4-10, the League announced today.
Nassi, a sophomore from Livorno, Italy, continued her streak of 11 straight single match wins to remain undefeated for the year as she helped the Royals to a 2-1 record last week. Against Wingate, Nassi found a 6-3, 6-2 singles victory in the top flight in addition to a 8-6 doubles victory with partner Melissa Laing at the No. 1 position. Against Catawba, she posted a 6-2, 6-1 singles win at the No. 1 spot and an 8-1 win in doubles at the No. 2 spot with partner Caroline Nielsen. The week concluded with Coker as Nassi fought through three sets to take the win in singles with a 7-6 (7-5), 3-6, 6-0 win at the No.1 spot. She would also secure the No.1 doubles point with an 8-0 sweep with Nielsen. The honor is her second Player of the Week plaudit this season.
