The South Atlantic Conference Announces Seeds for the 2016 SAC Women's Tennis Championship
ROCK HILL, S.C. (TheSAC.com) – Wingate won its fifth-straight South Atlantic Conference Women's Tennis Regular-Season Championship as it captured the 2016 Title. With the crown, the Bulldogs have earned the No. 1 seed in next week's South Atlantic Conference Women's Tennis Championship, it was determined today as the Conference season concluded this afternoon. Wingate finished the season with an 11-0 League record.
Tusculum picked up the No. 2 seed as it finished 10-1 in SAC play, while Queens' 9-2 League record was good for the No. 3 seed. Newberry and Lincoln Memorial finished their South Atlantic Conference seasons with identical 7-4 records. The Wolves defeated the Railsplitters during the regular-season to break the tie and give Newberry the No. 4 seed and LMU the No. 5 seed. Coker rounded out the seeds at No. 6 as it posted a 6-5 record in League play.
Wingate and Tusculum each earned a bye to semifinals. The tournament will take place at Brevard College with the quarterfinals getting underway on Thursday, April 21. The semifinals will be played on April 22 and the tournament will conclude with the finals on April 23. The tournament schedule is listed below:
