Newberry's Gonzalez Agud Named South Atlantic Conference AstroTurf Women's Tennis Player of the Week

ROCK HILL, S.C. (TheSAC.com) – Newberry's Judit Gonzalez Agud has been named the South Atlantic Conference AstroTurf Women's Tennis Player of the Week for matches played during the first week of the 2020 season, the Conference announced today. 

Gonzalez Agud, a sophomore from Barcelona, Spain, led the Wolves to a pair of wins last week, including their first SAC victory of the season over Mars Hill. She was perfect in both singles and doubles play, winning 6-1, 6-3 at No. 1 singles against Erskine and picking up the 5-7, 6-1, 10-7 win at No. 1 singles versus Mars Hill. Gonzalez Agud and No. 1 doubles partner Elisa Aguirre also picked up two wins, defeating Erskine (7-6) and Mars Hill (6-1).

This is Gonzalez Agud's first Player of the Week selection this season.
