Carson-Newman's Reis Named South Atlantic Conference AstroTurf Women's Tennis Player of the Week

ROCK HILL, S.C. (TheSAC.com) – Carson-Newman's Abbey Reis has been named the South Atlantic Conference AstroTurf Women's Tennis Player of the Week for matches played during the ninth week of the 2021 season, the Conference announced today.

Reis, a senior from Des Moines, Iowa, led the Carson-Newman women to a 2-1 record last week, including a 4-3 upset win over No. 18 Queens. Reis, playing No. 1 doubles and No. 6 singles, picked up the decisive win for the Eagles against Queens, defeating her opponent 6-3, 6-4. She also picked up a wins against Mars Hill last week.

This is Reis' first Player of the Week selection this season.
