Nine SAC Athletes Qualify for NCAA Division II Women's Indoor National Championships
INDIANAPOLIS – The NCAA Division II Men's and Women's Track and Field Committee has announced the participants for the 2022 NCAA Division II Men's and Women's Indoor Track and Field Championships.
A total of 540 participants, 270 men and 270 women, will compete in the championships. Student-athletes qualified for the championships by reaching a provisional standard established for each event.
Heat sheets will be available at this same website by Monday, March 7.
Representing the South Atlantic Conference will be nine athletes from Catawba, Coker, Queens, and Wingate.
Catawba's MeKayla White will compete in the long jump.
Coker's Calene Lazare will compete in both the 60-meter and 200-meter dashes.
Queens' will have representation in the 60-meter hurdles, Melanie Welsing, 800-meter, Carlin McFadden, the high jump, Lucy Walliker, 3000-meter run, Fatima Alanis and Stevie Lawrence. Alanis will also compete in the 5000-meter run and Stina Pettersson will join Alanis, McFadden and Lawrence in the distance medley relay.
Wingate's Gemma Rebollo will compete in the 5000-meter run.

The championships will be held March 11-12 in Pittsburg, Kansas at the Harvey Dean Track. Pittsburg State University and Crawford County Convention and Visitors Bureau will serve as co-hosts of the championships.The championships will be streamed live on www.NCAA.com.
