Wingate's Brooks Voted as SAC Women's Indoor Track & Field Athlete of the Year
ROCK HILL, S.C. (TheSAC.com) – Wingate's Evie Brooks has been voted the 2025-26 South Atlantic Conference Women's Indoor Track and Field Athlete of the Year, the league announced today.
Brooks, a junior distance runner from Horncastle, England, earned First Team All-America honors in the mile at the 2026 NCAA Division II Indoor Track and Field Championships, finishing fourth with a time of 4:46.79. She also competed in the 3,000 meters at the national meet, placing 16th in 10:00.17.
At the SAC Indoor Track and Field Championships, Brooks captured the mile title with a time of 4:59.07. She also added a fifth-place finish in the 3,000 meters, crossing the line in 9:57.30.
The SAC Women's Indoor Track and Field Athlete of the Year is selected by a vote of the league's head coaches.
