The South Atlantic Conference Announces Week Nine Astroturf Volleyball Players of the Week

ROCK HILL, S.C. (TheSAC.com)– The South Atlantic Conference announced its AstroTurf Volleyball Players of the week for matches played during the ninth week of the 2019 season. Queens Casey Tarvin takes Player of the Week honors, while Lincoln Memorial's Emily Walter was named Specialist of the Week.

Tarvin, a junior outside hitter, helped lead the Royals to a 2-0 record in conference play this past week. She tallied 24 kills, 34 digs and 4 aces in total on the week. Tarvin ranks second in the conference with a hitting percentage of .355 per set and is one of only two players inside the Top 12 in the league for kills and digs per set. This is Tarvins's third Player of the Week Honor this season.

A sophomore setter from Buford, GA. Walter helped lead the Railsplitters to a 2-1 record on the week, Averaging 9.55 assists per set totaling 105 assists. She tallied 40 assists and 14 digs in her five-set win over Tusculum, while putting up 37 assists against UVa- Wise and 28 assists against Mars Hill. Walter ranks fourth overall in the SAC with 859 total assists (8.57/set). This is Walter's second Specialist of the Week Honor this season.
