The South Atlantic Conference Announces Week Ten Astroturf Volleyball Players of the Week

ROCK HILL, S.C. (TheSAC.com)– The South Atlantic Conference announced its AstroTurf Volleyball Players of the week for matches played during the tenth week of the 2019 season. Queens Casey Tarvin takes Player of the Week honors, while Lincoln Memorial's Emily Walter was named Specialist of the Week.

Tarvin, a junior outside hitter, helped lead the Royals to a 2-0 record in conference play this past weekend. She tallied 40 kills, 39 digs, one block and one ace in total on the weekend. Tarvin reached 1,000 career kills in her game against Anderson, becoming just the fourth Royal volleyball player to break the milestone. She leads the Royals in kills helping them to gain sole possession of second-place in the SAC standings. This is Tarvins's fourth Player of the Week Honor this season.

 A sophomore setter from Buford, GA. Walter helped lead the Railsplitters to a 2-0 record on the weekend, averaging 12.71 assists per set totaling to 89 assists. She tallied 52 assists and nine digs in her four-set win over Mars Hill, while putting up 37 assists against Lenoir-Rhyne. Walter ranks fourth overall in the SAC with 917 total assists (8.82/set). This is Walter's third Specialist of the Week Honor this season.
