Top Four Seeds in Southeast Region of NCAA Volleyball Tournament Reside in the SAC
ROCK HILL, S.C. (theSAC.com) – It was a dominant showing for SAC Volleyball as the NCAA announced its 2025 Division II Championship field. The SAC had the top four seeds in the Southeast Region, led by top seed and regional host, Wingate.
The Bulldogs won the 17th SAC Tournament title in program history on Saturday and went 18-0 in the SAC in the regular season. They are riding a 27-game winning streak and haven't dropped a match since September 5. Each of the past nine wins by Wingate have come via the sweep.
Lenoir-Rhyne is the No. 2 seed in the region after advancing to a second straight SAC Tournament Championship game. The Bears reverse sweep of Anderson in the semifinals was enough for them to hop over Anderson who entered last week as the No. 2 seed in the region. The Bears are 22-7 overall and went 14-4 in the conference.
The Trojans are the third seed and boast a 21-7 overall mark with four of those losses coming to the top two seeds in the region. After starting the season 3-4, Anderson caught fire running off winning streaks of 10 games and seven games.
Carson-Newman checks in as the No. 4 seed. The Eagles are 24-5 overall and all five of those loses have come to SAC schools. Four players were named to the All-Conference team for the talented C-N squad, led by first teamers Emerson Ahsmus and Maddie Hurst.
