The South Atlantic Conference Announces AstroTurf Men's Indoor Track & Field Athletes of the Week
Queens University of Charlotte’s Elijah Inuwa was tabbed as the Astroturf South Atlantic Conference Men's Indoor Track Athlete of the Week, and Carson-Newman’s Tanner Stepp was tabbed as the Astroturf South Atlantic Conference Men’s Indoor Field Athlete of the Week for meets contested Jan. 8 – 14, the League announced today.
ROCK HILL, S.C. (TheSAC.com) – Queens University of Charlotte's Elijah Inuwa was tabbed as the Astroturf South Atlantic Conference Men's Indoor Track Athlete of the Week, and Carson-Newman's Tanner Stepp was tabbed as the Astroturf South Atlantic Conference Men's Indoor Field Athlete of the Week for meets contested Jan. 8 – 14, the League announced today.
Inuwa, a junior from Waxhaw, N.C., won the one mile event at the East Tennessee State University Invitational last week with a time of 4:13.32.
Stepp, a senior from Jefferson City, Tenn., collected a first place finish in the high jump when he cleared 2.11 meters at the East Tennessee State University Invitational. His jump beat his previous season best of 2.08 meters and he is now ranked fourth in the nation.
The award is Inuwa's first Track Athlete of the Week honor this season, and it is Stepp's first Field Athlete of the Week honor this season.
