The South Atlantic Conference Announces AstroTurf SAC Men's Basketball Player of the Week, Feb. 27
ROCK HILL, S.C. (TheSAC.com) – Carson-Newman guard Charles Clark has been named the AstroTurf South Atlantic Conference Men's Basketball Player of the Week for games played Feb. 20-26, the League announced today.
Clark, a junior from Murfreesboro, Tenn., posted back-to-back triple doubles to lead the Eagles to a pair of South Atlantic Conference wins last week. He highlighted his week on Feb. 25 as he became the first-ever player in the game of basketball (NBA or NCAA) to score 54 points in a triple double. In the win over Coker, Clark put in 54 points to go along with 11 rebounds and 12 assists in a 120-91 win over the Cobras. He got his week started with 33 points, 11 rebounds and 11 assists as Carson-Newman picked up a 96-55 win over Brevard on Feb. 22. He shot 62 percent from the field in the two-game span and came away with five steals. The honor marks his third Player of the Week selection this season.
